I’m a birth and postpartum doula in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I serve women in the medical system and out of it during birth and postpartum. I offer evidence and experience-based knowledge on physiologic birth and modern healing modalities.
Becoming a mother at 20 years old, I was rocked by an unplanned pregnancy. This led me to this passion. What started as one book to deepen my education about birth became 20. Next came doula certifications and a fire to advocate for other women’s choices. Along the way, I had two of my own birth and postpartum experiences that transformed all that I am.
I had an unmedicated birth center birth followed by a rocky NICU experience.
I also had a freebirth (a birth attended only by my man, my toddler, and my mom) followed by a peaceful postpartum experience.
Both were sacred. Both changed my life.
I became a HERBAL-trained birth, bereavement, and postpartum doula in 2022. The best thing this gifted me was an incredible foundation of evidence-based support knowledge.
Secondly, I took Freebirth Society’s Radical Birthkeeper Course. In short, I learned how to support families to have a physiologic birth experience in which the mother's authority is centered.
I have gained much insight to share with women from my personal experiences. Yet I also know there are thousands of variations of experiences to know and support. This is why I have sat at the feet of more knowledgeable birth workers and why I am dedicated to continuing my educations consistently.
I believe in our biological design. I believe in mothers' abilities to discern their needs and their babies’ needs above any degree or title. I honor that each mother will intuitively choose the care that best fits her needs. This is why I support women choosing all paths to birth and mother during postpartum.
It is my job to provide the education, a shoulder to lean on, resources, and advocacy for your choices!
No judgement here, sister.
Simple. I am a bookworm.
Books have been a vital teaching tool in my education as a birth worker. What started as a search for answers as a mother has led me to seek ways to support each phase of motherhood.
Learning is power and we are in the age of information, ladies.
I take a dual approach: I educate my clients on what choices are available and honor their individual intuition.
Each of my clients gets access to my library of resources as an added bonus!
